Decorative collars add color, texture, and statement details. Walking equipment has a different job. Do not assume that a visible ring, chain, bow attachment, or ornamental fitting is designed to take leash tension.

Read the intended use first

Choose leash-attachment equipment whose manufacturer explicitly identifies it for that purpose. Follow the fitting and use instructions for that exact item. If the MelaChill product page does not confirm leash suitability, ask hello@melachill.com before attaching a leash.

Distinguish appearance from function

Rose-gold-tone finishes, crystal details, and scale-like textures describe how a collar looks. They are not evidence of load testing, water resistance, or suitability for pulling. Do not infer these properties from product photos or matching colors.

Check equipment together

If wearing more than one item, follow each manufacturer’s guidance and check that straps or ornaments do not interfere with each other. Supervise the first fitting and stop if anything rubs, restricts movement, or appears damaged.

Choose for your individual pet

For help selecting suitable walking equipment—especially if your pet pulls or has a health concern—consult a qualified professional. A decorative style should not replace equipment selected for the pet’s walking needs.

Explore decorative dog collars and read the intended-use notes for the specific style before ordering.
