Decorative pet collars can combine a strap, coated hardware, bows, and raised ornaments. A cleaning method suitable for one component may not suit the others, so use the care instructions for the exact style.

Start with the product information

Check the listed materials and care notes before using water or a cleaning product. Gold-tone, pearl-style, and crystal-accented describe design details; they do not tell you whether the whole collar can be soaked or machine-washed. Contact hello@melachill.com if the instructions are unclear.

Handle decorations gently

Remove loose surface dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not pull on bows, flowers, chains, or other ornaments while cleaning. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners, or machine-washing unless the product’s instructions explicitly allow the method.

Check before the next wear

Inspect the strap, fastener, edges, and decorative attachments. Do not keep using an item with loose parts, sharp edges, or damaged fastening hardware. Keep small detached pieces away from pets.

Store without crushing

Let any damp item dry according to its care instructions before storage. Keep raised decorations from being crushed under other items. Store the collar out of your pet’s reach rather than leaving it as a chew or play object.
